THE BAY AREA MINERALOGISTS Hey all you rockpounders out there! I can just feel that tingle of anticipation you feel as you open the envelope or read down on the screen of this early edition of the monthly newsletter. What is it all about? For starters, Len Pisciotta has returned from Namibia with such excitement that he proposes a BAM picnic. Here's the details: Saturday, March first at 10 AM. Directions: From SF take 101 North, exit east on highway 37. Left on highway 121. Follow to highway 29, make left on 29, see Imola exit then get ready to take the next exit.... First St exit. Stay in left lane, come to stop, make left to crossback over 29 and move over to the 2 right lanes. Go thru light (lanes merge; First St turns to Brown's Valley road). See gas station and 7-11 on right. Go another 500 yards and make L onto Laurel. Go to end and make R onto Griggs Lane. Call Len for more info as well as RSVP. (He needs to know how much prime rib to order) Network on the telly and web for car pooling. That in order, the next coming meeting is our traditional post Tucson pow wow. So...... bring those flats in and allow us unfortunate enough to not have been able to make the trip a chance to see what it was all about. Welcome new member George Martin His number is 650 969 4694 and he lives in Mountain View. Note my new email below. Note also volume and number, above, starting this edition. This makes us professional since we are now a publishing journal. (has something to new with important archival matters) Keep me honest... I always start with last month as a template. Joe Cernac |
